With each passing year, there is one thing I have learnt and try every day to apply in my life: do a little more of what you truly love. And what is it to me? Film, Photography, Travel and family/friends. Nothing ever makes me happier than that.

When we created bubblerock, we did it out of passion and it was only meant as a place where we could express our creativity and ideas in our otherwise very corporate life. Never did I think I’d work on it full time though it always was something I wanted. Yet, almost a year ago, I quit the security of a job and went full time to do just that: do a little more of what makes me happy and what I truly love. Sure, we can’t all do that full time and at times, trust me: it is hard; we can’t go out a buy a big flash house or drive in a flash car, we don’t go out for dinner or to see a movie often but we made a choice, a lifestyle choice even. And I stand by my decision: one of the best ones yet.
We are fascinated by people, their journey, their stories and we have found it so incredibly inspiring and fulfilling to be able to take part in creating memories with incredible people, whether it be in their personal lives or even when it comes to talking about what in turns makes them happy or what they would like to do little more of … we all want to leave a little bit of us lying around for people to see and remember. And bubblerock is that: an experience, a team to help capture those moments, those memories and leave something personal behind for generations to come.
What will remain of our crazy fast life when we are old and wrinkled: the achievements (big or small), the happy memories, the people and maybe some regrets. Don’t have regrets. Not the kind that says “I wish I had done this or a little more of that”. Nothing matters: not money, not being the best at something: but the satisfaction of a life full of great moments lived with incredible people, led with passion and intention. And no one else but YOU can create that for you.

Make time to see the world around you and give yourselves some small goals like seeing a sunrise, having a drink by a pool, walking with friends, learning new tricks. Life is short. Intend to live it. Pay attention. Focus on what matters.
2013 for bubblerock and for us in our personal life will be a year of travel, more wedding films and photography around New Zealand, France and the rest of the world. But it will also be a year for amazing moments with family and friends: seeing them grow, be happy, succeed and just BE. And how do I know that? Because we are making the conscious decision that we want more of that in our life.
We also have amazing ideas and crazy plans for 2013: some changes at bubblerock – both visually and team wise, a small documentary to shoot in Sweden in June, a few great encounters and collaborations planned with amazing artists and businesses in the very near future both in New Zealand and in California, a cool new service to be announced with a small spin-off attached to it, which will be available worldwide but with a base in New Zealand and in France, a big big pitch we can’t wait to stuck our teeth in and which could be such an amazing experience, incredible weddings in France we cannot wait to share about, catch ups with inspiring Industry people and family & friends. I don’t think 2013 will be long enough but it will be the best year yet.
And you know what the difference will be in 2013: we will just go out and get it all. We will make it happen, rather than wait for opportunities to knock on our door. And we are putting it out there: we never rock more than when we travel for our work and passion – so remember: destination films are our specialty! Sneaky!
We came across many wonderful people, seen many incredible faces in 2012 and those above are only a few of the many people that touched us, changed us and made us into better people. We want to come across many more faces, tell many more stories and share many more moments so come on in and rock this year with us!
And now, it is time for me to do a little happy jump and dance.
