Some fun in the booth

So, yesterday I was at a friend’s Bachelorette (we call it a Hen’s Night in NZ) and I got to set up a little photo booth in true fun/party style. With a little DIY, we managed to create a corner of photo-fun for the guests who ended up playing the game.  I think Ash (the hen) will have lots of amazing memories to keep of that day.

At night, the girls surprised her with a drag queen/cabaret show: super fun… It was a good laugh and certainly fit the theme perfectly: flamboyant females.

Thanks girls for letting me be a part of your afternoon/night and capture those precious memories. It was certainly a colourful afternoon and night. So, who’s next?

A new look

So – there is a lot of changes happening over at Bubblerock Studios.

We now have a {new} brand with a whole new family of logos (more on this VERY soon – and the designer revealed!). We went on our first destination wedding this month and loved our time in Mexico with new friends: Lovely Little Details and Oceanside Bride. And we just thought that a new look with a brand new website could be a good way to bring this new beginning together.
With all new things, there are bits that are still to be ironed-out (maybe I should call MC Fitz for some help – private joke!) but we are nonetheless super excited about the change.

And just for memory-sake: a little reminder of how we used to look… I will miss you, old website.

But now: let’s celebrate!

Tiana+Gavin | The Teaser

So Tiana & Gavin may not have won the Creative Couple competition that Jel Photography put on, but they said themselves they were true winners when they realised how many people rallied behind them to vote and see them win.

And we all thought we should still offer them a ‘second-place’ prize option: which they accepted and we were delighted.

Here is the cutest teaser for the cutest couple: a little short film will follow and will serve them of engagement film… The talented duo of Jel Photography took care of the photos… and I cannot wait to see more than the sneak peek now on their blog.

Fighting the cold

Well, this weekend it will be cold and rainy. That’s the plan. BUT, we will also get our new 5D on Saturday and I am planning on taking it out for a test drive. Oh yeah!

So, here is my inspiration. The only thing I may miss in Auckland: the snow… And by the way, I totally love that first look… So me. I may have to go and buy  myself a ridiculously large scarf and some warm socks. Love, love this look!

Besides, I love the colour choices in the processing of these images. They really do inspire me. Wish me luck on my photographic adventure this weekend!

A lazy Sunday around Auckland

Today Robin and I went onto an impromptu photographic mission around Auckland. We drove across the Harbour Bridge to catch some panoramic of the city and found a perfect little spot where I will be sure to go again for a nice, nautical-themed shoot with one of the couples we are capturing the wedding of next year.

It was such a relaxing hour, just hanging out with the husband and taking a few snaps.

I hope you are all having a nice and lazy Sunday, wherever you are. And trust me, I am really glad tomorrow is a holiday in New Zealand – makes our Sunday a Saturday!
